Mahaut Maignan, 51, entered eternal rest the evening of September 29th, 2020. Named after his Grandfather Mahaut was born in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti on the 22nd day of December 1968. Born of Cathan and Dieuheureuse Maignan, he was the 5th child of 8 children. His siblings are Jean Canes, Casna, Junette, Denise, Cathan, Pierre, and Frito.
In the year of 1987 Mahaut ventured to America. A few years after living here in the US Mahaut met Kerline in 1989 whom he Married and started a family with. He leaves behind six children Stephen, Mahaut, Matthew, Michelle, Tatiana, and Daniel. All those who met him knew Mahaut had a big brother complex even though he was younger, he was a care taker. He was always available to provide a helping hand. He had a big heart and loved making sure not only his family but all those around him were taken care of.
He worked various jobs, however his last occupation was working at Stamford Hospital (for 20 years). as a store room clerk and driving taxi part time.
Mahaut was a great driver, he loved to speed and maneuver his car through traffic. Driving around with him was like riding around with a fast and furious driver. Mahaut loved cooking, especially Italian dishes. He learned to master them, as he had worked in the restaurant Pellicci’s at some point in time. He was very handy, preferring to fix things before hiring any help. He was determined to figure it out. He had a can do attitude. He was big on giving lectures on any topic he became “an expert at.”
He was preceded in death by his father and brother. He was a son, husband, brother and father to many. He was consistently present and a pilar to loved ones. His legacy will continue to live on in the memories of loved ones and through the lineage of his children.
