Hood, he instead enrolled in Columbia University, earning a master's and a six-year degree in music education and pursuing a Ph.D., which he completed ABD, and returned to teaching in Stamford. It was through teaching at Belltown School that he met and married the love of his life, fourth-grade teacher Joan Dolan. After retiring from the Stamford Public School System, he became the Director of Project Music. Mr. DeLuca enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife, rooting for the Yankees, and cultivating his roses. He also sang with choirs at St. Cecilia's church, where he and his wife were active members.
