Obituary of Daniel Freelund

Daniel Ezra Freelund passed away at age 78, on June 5, 2018, comforted by the support of loving family and friends. Dan was born on January 30, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Joanna and Michael Freelund. He raised his family in Stamford, Connecticut, and spent the last several years in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For many years he worked in the investment industry as a marketing consultant at Fairfield Capital Associates. He had a passion for skiing, golf, biking, the New York Yankees, and—with season tickets for nearly 60 years—the New York Giants. His greatest pride came from his relationships with family and friends, and he found enormous joy in playing with his grandchildren. Dan was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Judy Freelund. He was preceded in death by his brother, Avrum Freelund. Dan is survived by his children, Rachel Haims and Kenneth Freelund; their spouses, Russell Haims and Mindy Freelund; and four adoring grandchildren, Jake Freelund, Emily Freelund, Jason Haims, and Jordan Haims. Those who wish may donate in Dan's name to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126 or https://give.ushmm.org/donate). The funeral service will be officiated by Rabbi Joshua Hammerman on Thursday, June 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, Connecticut, with interment to follow at Temple Beth El Cemetery.  Arrangements are under teh direction of Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home 203-359-9999.  www.gallagherfuneralhome.com
