Victoria M. Lombardo, lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Bridges by Epoch in Norwalk, on Monday, January 9, 2023. The daughter of Michael and Catherine (Comito) Lombardo, she was born on November 5, 1927, and was educated in the public schools of Stamford. She then took classes at the Pratt Institute School of Design in Brooklyn, NY. Vickie, as she was known to many, was predeceased by her parents, four brothers (John, Peter, Albert and Louis) and two sisters (Ellen Gaipa and Dolores), and by her niece Kathy. She is survived by her sister-in-law Marie R. Lombardo of Trumbull. Also surviving her are her nephews Peter, Michael (Deborah), Thomas (Kathleen), Louis, Jr. (Laura), Michael (Cathy), John, and Robert (Debra), and a niece Linda, as well as by several cousins, and many grandnephews and grandnieces.
Miss Lombardo worked in pattern and other design functions for Conde Nast in Greenwich, McCall’s/Simplicity in New York City, and Pitney Bowes in Stamford for her entire career, retiring in the late 1990s. She was an inveterate traveller, and with her sisters travelled the country and the world; a highlight for her life was her journey to and from Europe on the Concorde.
