Those acquainted with I a c have long known they would never meet another man like him. That mix of tenacity, clarity and loyalty really was unique. A few of us are privileged to have both worked with Ed and enjoyed his unwavering friendship. I count myself among that group and miss him terribly. Dan Remling and Tom Morris had one poured and waiting for him. I regret being unable to pay my respects in person.

A good man has left us. Truly a part of the fabric of firefighting in Stamford. His legacy of service is well-established, well-deserved, and much admired. Just a great guy.

First met Mr. Iacovo as my freshman biology teacher 1966 at Stamford Catholic High School. Later years followed his Belltown career from various posts. Noting the # of postings on Facebook, the Man had obvious effects on a multitude of people. This speaks to the MAN he was as a teacher, firefighter, mentor, community leader..RIP Iac !!!

Iac was like a second father to me! My deepest condolences to his family and all of his true friends! Iac was one of a kind! He will be remembered by many as a honest and straight forward man! When he set his mind to anything he wouldn’t stop until it was accomplished! He was a teacher, firefighter, worked for the city and most of all a friend! Gods speed Ed! Love you and I will miss you so much!
