There are several different ways in which you can memorialize and honor a person who has passed away. These services give some solace to the grieving family. Most families want the funeral service to be personal, familiar and comforting; this helps them say their goodbyes and reminisce the good moments they have shared with the person.

The service

A funeral director helps organize funeral services just the way the family wants it. There are a number of different services a funeral director can provide a family such as:

  • Paperwork - There is always a lot of paperwork that needs to be completed whenever any person dies; the funeral director will provide you all the details you require and will help with completing all the mandatory paperwork.

  • Counseling Services - The funeral director also has business ties with service providers like grief counselors and can recommend which of these professionals you can contact if you need counseling in your time of grief.

  • Funeral service arrangements - This professional will also discuss your requirements and make sure that the service runs just as you would like it to. They will pay attention to details like the flower arrangements, the music, catering and more.

  • Burial arrangements - The funeral director will manage all tasks related to the actual burial. If you have any specific requirements they will make sure they are kept in view while making arrangements.

Other services

Apart from all these things, the funeral director will also maintain communication with the family while all the arrangements are being made to ensure everything runs smoothly and as planned. If you want to know more about funerals or want more information about what funeral directors do, don’t hesitate to call us at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home for more information.
